R01 Mont Blanc: white KORDEKO flexible stone that makes texture the main feature of the facade

A white facade is often considered the most neutral architectural solution. With R01 Mont Blanc, however, the defining feature is not the colour but the surface. The uneven stone relief catches daylight, creates soft shadows and prevents a large light-coloured wall from looking completely flat and lifeless.

R01 Mont Blanc belongs to the ROCK STONE series. It is a white model with a pronounced natural stone texture, which makes it particularly interesting for projects that call for light, understated architecture while giving the facade more depth.

When white becomes more than just white

R01 has little need to attract attention through saturated colour. Its visual effect comes from something else: projections, recesses and the natural irregularity of its relief change with the lighting.

In the morning the surface appears softer and more subdued. Side sunlight makes the relief more contrasting, while overcast weather gives the whole wall a more unified appearance. Mont Blanc is therefore especially well suited to architecture that values:

• clean geometric forms;
• large facade surfaces;
• the interplay of light and volume;
• a minimal number of decorative colours;
• an emphasis on the material rather than a bright palette.

Such a facade can remain almost monochrome without appearing flat.

A modern home without a "sterile" feel

One challenge of white architecture is that excessively smooth surfaces can make a building look visually cold. Textured cladding changes that impression.

R01 can be used as the primary finish for an entire house or only on selected architectural features: the entrance, a projecting facade section, columns, a terrace wall or the area around large windows. Mont Blanc looks particularly striking alongside:

• anthracite window frames;
• dark roofing;
• glass;
• wood tones;
• graphite-coloured metal elements;
• calm grey surfaces.

Here the contrast comes not only from white against dark colours, but also from smooth surfaces against textured ones.

R01 also suits understated classical architecture

Mont Blanc is not limited to minimalist design. Its white stone surface fits houses with cornices, pilasters, window surrounds and other architectural details. In this setting it plays a different role: it becomes a light stone backdrop that helps emphasise the building's proportions.

This versatility is what makes R01 interesting: the same texture can look distinctly contemporary on a house with panoramic glazing and entirely different on a symmetrical classical facade.

Large surface or selective accent?

There is no single correct way to use Mont Blanc. Cladding a substantial part of a building produces a light, monolithic appearance with a visible stone structure. Used locally, R01 becomes an accent that visually separates one architectural section from another. For example, it can highlight:

• the ground floor;
• the main entrance;
• the space between windows;
• an individual architectural volume;
• columns;
• a wall beside the terrace;
• an inner courtyard.

Thanks to its flexibility, KORDEKO can be installed not only on ordinary straight walls but also on columns, arches and other more complex surfaces. Both scenarios, the whole house or a single volume, can be tried out in advance in the 3D facade constructor.

Mont Blanc in interiors

R01 is not just a facade solution. Indoors, its white textured surface is especially useful wherever a stone-wall effect is wanted without overwhelming the space with dark colours: a TV feature wall, living-room wall, stairwell, reception area, column or an individual architectural feature. Directional lighting makes the relief even more visible: the light casts small shadows that give the surface greater depth.

At the same time, KORDEKO flexible tile (PletaFlex) retains the character of mineral cladding while remaining considerably lighter than traditional natural stone. KORDEKO's technical description specifies a weight of approximately 4 kg/m² and a thickness of around 2.5–5 mm, depending on the series and texture.

Light-coloured cladding for a warm facade

R01 can also be used as a decorative finish in an external thermal insulation system. Such projects do not have to be limited to ordinary paint or decorative plaster.

Properly installed facade insulation creates the building's thermal envelope, while Mont Blanc completes the system with a light, stone-textured surface. KORDEKO materials identify flexible tile as a finishing option for insulated facade systems; the European assessment documents for such systems (EOTA) evaluate the insulation, reinforcement and finish as one whole.

This is particularly attractive when a client wants both a modern light-coloured facade and a pronounced texture without resorting to heavy stone cladding.

Why R01 Mont Blanc adapts easily to different architecture

The strength of this model lies not in one particular style but in its ability to change with its surroundings:

• on a minimalist house it emphasises geometry;
• paired with wood it looks visually warmer;
• with graphite-coloured elements it creates strong contrast;
• in classical architecture it provides a calm, light background;
• in interiors it works through light and relief.

R01 Mont Blanc is therefore more than just a "white tile". It is a model for projects where the colour should remain restrained and the character of the surface comes from the stone texture itself.
