Flexible stone — house in Romania
Flexible stone — house in Romania
The orderly rhythm of the windows, the relief window surrounds and the generous cornice give this building a classic, representative character. The flexible cladding KORDEKO Butcher Beige is applied to the large surfaces between the decorative elements, forming a light mineral background for the dark joinery and the white decor — the neutral palette visually reduces the building's mass and brings out the facade's vertical lines.
On a project like this, installation precision matters most around the many openings, the bands, the sills, the cornices and the external corners. The low thickness preserves the designed proportions of the decor, and the light weight limits the load on the facade compared with natural stone. The material is cut right on site, which allows clean junctions even on narrow surfaces.
Installation was carried out on a stable, levelled and primed base, with frost-resistant exterior adhesive suited to light finishes. Resistance to moisture, UV and temperature variation makes the cladding well suited to a large urban building in long-term use.
