W04 Forest Beech: grey wood texture by KORDEKO for a facade in the modern natural style
W04 Forest Beech is one of the most unusual models in the WOOD series. It combines a wood grain pattern with a cool gray palette, so the material is perceived not as classic “wood-look cladding,” but as a more architectural, almost graphic surface.
In the current KORDEKO range, W04 Forest Beech belongs to the WOOD series and is described as a gray variant with white granules. Long horizontal fibers, knots, and natural wood transitions are clearly visible on the surface, while the overall tone remains restrained and contemporary.
Wood without the usual warm tone
The main feature of Forest Beech is its color.
Most wood textures are associated with brown, honey, or golden tones. W04 takes a different direction. Its gray-and-white palette makes the surface more disciplined and allows it to be used where conventional warm wood might look too traditional.
This is especially interesting for contemporary architecture with:
- white walls;
- graphite frames;
- concrete;
- glass;
- black metal;
- minimalist geometry.
In this setting, W04 adds a natural texture without disrupting the cool, cohesive color concept.
When wood grain becomes graphic
Forest Beech has a strongly pronounced horizontal direction.
The long grain lines create a distinct pattern across the surface. On a large wall, they work almost like architectural graphics: emphasizing the length of the facade, visually connecting windows, and stretching individual building volumes.
This makes W04 especially interesting for:
- long facade surfaces;
- terrace walls;
- soffits and areas beneath canopies;
- horizontal architectural volumes;
- projecting parts of the house;
- decorative inserts between glazed surfaces.
Here, the texture becomes not merely an imitation of wood, but part of the composition.
A good material for a contrasting facade
Forest Beech is easy to combine with other KORDEKO series.
For example, it can look interesting next to the light R01 Mont Blanc, gray ROCK STONE models, or darker anthracite surfaces. Thanks to its gray wood palette, transitions between different materials look logical and balanced.
Especially expressive combinations can be created with:
- white stone texture;
- anthracite;
- light-gray bush-hammered surfaces;
- black metal;
- glass;
- dark window profiles.
Such a facade can be designed almost entirely without bright colors and still look sophisticated thanks to the variety of textures.
W04 for architecture where modern natural matters
Contemporary architecture increasingly seeks to combine strict geometry with natural motifs. Forest Beech works especially well in exactly these projects.
The material preserves a recognizable wood grain, while the gray tone makes it more neutral and contemporary. This makes it suitable for:
- country houses;
- urban villas;
- modern cottages;
- hotels;
- SPA and wellness spaces;
- restaurants;
- commercial buildings with a natural aesthetic.
W04 adds a sense of “naturalness” to the facade without turning the building into a traditional wooden house.
An interior with a cooler wood aesthetic
Indoors, Forest Beech can look even more interesting.
It is a good choice for interiors where a wood motif is desired while maintaining a gray, white, or graphite color palette.
W04 can be used for:
- a TV area;
- a wall behind the sofa;
- a bedroom;
- a home office;
- a staircase hall;
- a reception area;
- an office;
- a café or restaurant.
Next to black lighting fixtures, glass, concrete, and neutral textiles, this surface looks especially contemporary.
With side lighting, the wood grain lines and knots become more visible, giving the wall additional depth.
Not a board, but flexible mineral cladding
Visually, W04 refers to wood, but structurally it is not a wooden panel. KORDEKO is a flexible mineral-polymer cladding material with a reinforcing layer. The technical description specifies an approximate weight of 4 kg/m² and a thickness of about 2.5–5 mm, depending on the series and texture.
Thanks to this, KORDEKO Flexible Tile (PletaFlex) can be applied not only to standard straight walls, but also to columns, arches, corners, and other architectural elements.
This is especially interesting for a wood texture: the pattern can continue across surfaces where traditional rigid panels would require a more complex solution.
Forest Beech on an insulated facade
W04 can also be used as the decorative part of an external thermal insulation facade system.
When Facade Insulation is properly installed, Forest Beech can serve as the exterior finish and create the building’s wood-inspired appearance. KORDEKO materials describe flexible tile as a cladding option for insulated facade systems.
The general requirements for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are set out in the European assessment documents published by EOTA.
This makes it possible to create a modern insulated facade where the wood aesthetic is achieved not with heavy panels or boards, but with lighter flexible cladding.
Why W04 Forest Beech is especially interesting for designers
Forest Beech sits at the intersection of two aesthetics.
On the one hand, its wood character is clearly visible. On the other, the gray graphic palette gives it an almost mineral feel. This makes it possible to use W04 where conventional wood would appear too warm or traditional.
This model is intended for projects that want to retain a connection with natural texture while expressing it in a more contemporary and disciplined architectural language.
