M05 Royal Granite: graphite flexible stone by KORDEKO for disciplined contemporary architecture
M05 Royal Granite has a completely different character from the light and wood collections. Here, a dense gray-graphite tone comes to the foreground, creating a sense of solidity and giving the surface a more composed appearance.
In the current KORDEKO range, M05 Royal Granite belongs to the MARMURA series and is described as a gray variant with white and black granules. This prevents the color from looking completely uniform: the surface retains mineral depth and natural variation.
When a facade needs architectural mass rather than decoration
Royal Granite works well where a building needs to look disciplined and confident.
This model does not rely on bright color play or pronounced wood graphics. Its effect is built on the density of the shade and a calm stone surface. M05 is therefore especially suited to architecture where large volumes, clear lines, and minimal decoration are important.
This material is especially interesting for:
- modern private homes;
- urban villas;
- commercial buildings;
- offices;
- entrance areas;
- facades with extensive glazing;
- minimalist architecture.
Across a large surface, Royal Granite helps create the impression of a unified stone volume.
Graphite as the basis for contrast
M05 combines well with light-colored materials.
When Royal Granite is placed next to a white or light-beige surface, the graphite appears deeper while the lighter part of the facade looks visually cleaner. This combination creates strong contrast without the need for bright colors.
M05 can work especially well next to:
- white plaster;
- R01 Mont Blanc;
- light wood;
- glass;
- black window frames;
- metal elements;
- light-gray concrete.
With wood, Royal Granite appears visually warmer. With glass and metal, it takes on a more technical and disciplined character.
A good material for architectural zoning
M05 does not need to cover the entire building.
On the contrary, in some projects it works especially expressively as an accent material. The dark stone surface helps visually separate one volume from another and gives the architecture more structure.
Royal Granite can be used for:
- the ground floor;
- the plinth;
- the entrance portal;
- the garage block;
- the central volume of the house;
- a wall beside the terrace;
- columns;
- facade inserts.
This approach is especially useful when the main facade is light and lacks depth.
M05 for contemporary public spaces
Royal Granite is suitable not only for private homes.
Thanks to its neutral graphite palette, it can also be used in more formal commercial projects: offices, hotels, showrooms, restaurants, salons, and reception areas.
The dark-gray surface helps create an interior or facade that feels composed and professional without appearing excessively cold.
M05 works especially well where it is combined with:
- metal;
- glass;
- concrete;
- black details;
- soft warm lighting.
In these combinations, the material looks architectural and contemporary.
Royal Granite in interiors
Indoors, M05 can become the basis for a strong accent wall.
It can be used in:
- a living room;
- a TV area;
- a home office;
- a hall;
- a restaurant;
- a reception area;
- an office space;
- a hotel interior.
With directional lighting, the surface becomes deeper and more interesting: the white and black mineral granules become more pronounced, and the wall no longer looks like an ordinary uniform gray background.
A stone appearance without massive cladding
Royal Granite creates the visual impression of a heavy stone surface, while the KORDEKO system itself is much lighter than traditional stone materials.
The technical description states that the flexible stone weighs approximately 4 kg/m² and is about 2.5–5 mm thick, depending on the series and relief.
At the same time, KORDEKO Flexible Tile (PletaFlex) is intended for more than flat walls. The material can be applied to columns, arches, corners, and other architectural elements.
This makes it possible to use the graphite surface on more complex building forms while maintaining one consistent visual language.
M05 and an insulated facade system
Royal Granite can also be integrated into projects with external thermal insulation.
When Facade Insulation is properly installed, M05 can be used as the decorative finishing layer. KORDEKO materials describe flexible tile as a cladding option for insulated facade systems.
The general requirements for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are set out in the European assessment documents published by EOTA.
This makes it possible to create not merely an insulated plaster facade, but a more unified graphite stone surface.
Why M05 Royal Granite suits contemporary architecture
The strength of this model lies in its visual discipline.
Royal Granite does not require a complex palette or numerous decorative materials. It works well on its own, but becomes especially expressive when combined with light surfaces, wood, glass, and metal.
M05 is intended for projects that require a serious, disciplined, contemporary facade without unnecessary visual noise.
